Certification Program Overview
A Certification Program Based on Responsible Management Evaluation Results
SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)
SEC (Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission) operates a Certification Program under established certification criteria and procedures based on the Responsible Management evaluation results of corporations and public institutions.
SEC Certification does not re-evaluate evaluation results or assign a new rating. It is a separate system under which compliance with established certification criteria is determined on the basis of finalized evaluation results and certification is granted through established procedures.
I. Purpose of the Certification Program
The SEC Certification Program is intended to certify corporations and public institutions that meet established certification criteria based on Responsible Management evaluation results and to contribute to the continued practice and advancement of Responsible Management.
Certification provides stakeholders and society with information concerning the Responsible Management of corporations and public institutions and provides official certification information that organizations may use in supporting the continued practice and improvement of Responsible Management.
II. Relationship between Evaluation Results and Certification
SEC Certification is operated on the basis of finalized Responsible Management evaluation results.
Evaluation results provide the basis for determining certification eligibility, while certification is separately determined in accordance with the criteria and procedures established for the Certification Program.
Accordingly, the finalization of evaluation results, determination of Ratings, and granting of certification may be interconnected, but each is operated separately according to its own purpose, criteria, and procedures.
Ⅲ. SEC WFSRI Rating과 인증의 구분
III. Distinction between the SEC WFSRI Rating and Certification
The SEC WFSRI Rating is an official rating that represents the level of Responsible Management within an established rating structure based on finalized evaluation results and the WFSRI.
Certification is a separate system granted in accordance with established certification criteria and procedures based on evaluation results, Ratings, and other applicable requirements.
BB (Certified) in the SEC WFSRI Rating is the designation of one of the five official Rating levels and does not constitute certification under the separate Certification Program.
Separate certification status is determined in accordance with the criteria and procedures established for the applicable Certification Program.
IV. Principles of Certification Operations
SEC applies the fundamental principles of Independence, Fairness, Objectivity, Professionalism, Transparency, and Reliability in operating the Certification Program.
SEC manages economic and business relationships with evaluated or certification-eligible organizations to prevent them from improperly influencing certification decisions.
The existence of an economic or business relationship or financial contribution cannot in itself constitute a basis for a more favorable or unfavorable certification decision. Where necessary, SEC applies appropriate conflict-of-interest management measures, including separation of functions, information barriers, recusal, and avoidance.
SEC does not request or receive monetary or other economic benefits in exchange for a favorable change to a certification decision.
V. Granting of Certification
SEC determines whether established certification criteria are satisfied on the basis of finalized evaluation results and grants certification to corporations and public institutions that complete the required certification procedures.
Certification eligibility and specific certification criteria are established under “Certification Criteria and Eligibility,” while procedures for certification review, decision, and management are presented under “Certification Process.”
VI. Certification Marks
SEC may operate Certification Marks under established standards to enable certified corporations and public institutions to indicate their certification status.
A Certification Mark is an official visual identifier indicating certification status and does not substitute for the SEC WFSRI Rating itself or the complete evaluation results.
The types and meaning of Certification Marks are presented under “Certification Marks,” while their scope and methods of use and management standards are established under “Guidelines for the Use of Certification Marks.”

SEC may disclose information concerning certified corporations and public institutions through its official website and other appropriate channels in accordance with applicable regulations and disclosure standards.
